  Coláiste an Phiarsaigh is an all Irish Postprimary school. It is co-educational and caters for students (Day and Boarding). Irish is the sole medium of instruction and communication. Students are obliged to speak Irish at all times. Day-Boarding students (5/4day) are also accepted. Grant aid may be available.

Founded in 1973 Coláiste an Phiarsaigh is now one of the largest all-Irish Schools in the country.

The use of the Irish language in all matters pertaining to the school is seen to enhance achievements over the whole spectrum of school life. The mastery of several languages enrich and stimulate pupils. Coláiste an Phiarsaigh, for instance, has a record second to none in English Language debating, winning the All-Ireland individual speaker of the year in the "Philosoph" in recent times.

The Coláiste's achievements have not been confined to the area of languages. Pupils of Coláiste an Phiarsaigh have also enjoyed considerable success in the young Scientist of the Year competition. Participation in various musical and cultural events is encouraged and entrants have achieved national success in Art, Drama and Music Categories.

Sport plays a significant role in the development of pupils in Coláiste an Phiarsaigh. A heated indoor swimming pool on campus enables students to undertake a swimming programme as part of Physical Education classes. Basketball, hurling, football, camogie athletics and tennis are also activities.

Subsidised transport. Special school bus from Parnell Place. Transport also from Knockraha, Gleanntán/Little Island, Fermoy, Cobh, Middleton.. Private bus arrangements (organised by parents) operate along the South Ring Road and the North side of the city.

Extra Information for Boarding Students

All students go home from 3.35pm on Friday until 8.00pm on Sunday.
A study session will be arranged on Sunday night between 8.15pm - 9.30pm.
Special arrangements may be made to return to school on Monday morning

Bed Linen

Each item of clothing and all bed linen must be clearly marked in marking ink with pupil's initial and surname.
1 Duvet, 2 Duvet covers, 2 fitted sheets (single), Pillow, 2 Pillow cases
Sleeping Bags are not acceptable

Reports

Twice yearly reports will be issued, at Christmas and Summer times, along with a progress monthly boarder's report which is intended to inform parents/guardians of the pupil's boarding behaviour and study habits.

Fees

The fees for the school year 2008/2009 are as follows:

5 Day week - €4,750.
A non-refundable deposit of €500 is required on registration and €2,375 on the opening in September and €2,375 on February 1st.
All fees cover board and routine medical attention.
All fees are payable in advance. No reduction in fees can be made.
Note: Full boarding grant may be available.
